Advice From A GT Student!

Simisola Omotoso is a current student at the Georgia Institute of Technology who is actively involved in the GT Women in Computing Club. Some advice she has to offer to girls looking for a future career in STEM is to start with what field they are already interested in. She explains how everything can be translated through technology. For example, if a girl is interested in animals, a career in building technological tools for animals would be a good idea. If another girl is interested in art, she could research the AI art phenomenon which is currently growing in popularity. These are examples of small steps that could help kickstart a career in technology for girls interested in STEM. There are so many possible conversations to have and opportunities to learn more about what you’re passionate about. As the education barrier closes and the competitive nature becomes more collaborative, Simisola hopes to see more women work together to be their best versions of themselves.
